Cindy Vilchez, age 24,  is the creator and owner of the Vilchez fashion line. “Fashion is in my blood,” she says!

Her grandmother migrated to America from Nicaragua and worked as a seamstress in New York for over 20 years. Vilchez discovered  her love for fashion in high school.  She decided to take pre-collage classes at the Fashion Institute Of Technology and got Certified in Urban Wear Design.

Her first creation was her prom dress , it was such a big hit that  she was even voted prom queen. She knew fashion was for her and went on to get a degree in Fashion design and merchandising.

She briefly worked at a few New York city show rooms one of them being the showroom of legendary designer Betsey Johnson. After this she went on to create her own women’s wear label “Vilchez” in the summer of 2009.

The line is a new take on the city girl and classic glamour girl. Vilchez is a life style brand for all young ladies with edge and spunk. You will often hear the designer refer to them as “dolls” and getting dressed as getting “dolled up”. She cares for her dolls in the way a pop star would hug an adoring fan!

Pieces from the Vilchez collection have been featured in numerous popular music videos, on red carpets, and more, adorned by beautiful curvacious models!

Cindy’s fast success can be attributed to her determination, resilience, and her humility!

“The Vilchez logo is inspired by the female reproductive system,” Cindy explains!

“Viva La Vilchez”

Below are images from “The Josi Marie Show” where Vilchez and other young New York designers  (all under 25)  discussed fashion and their role in its future!
